How to visualize refined grids in four easy steps using ParaView:
1. Open all generated *.pvd files (there is one for each grid)
2. Select and group them using "Group datasets"
3. Filter the merged data set using a material number threshold
4. The "Threshold" node contains the merged, non-overlapping and non-uniform grid
